Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII)

Fleet managers should monitor the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) to avoid the expense of inefficient ship management. Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) is a consolidated KPI indicating a ship's operating energy efficiency performance in terms of CO2 emissions per ship capacity per mile

From 2023, the CII thresholds and reduction requirements will take effect for all cargo, RoPax and cruise vessels above 5,000 GT and trading internationally, as referred to in regulation 28 of MARPOL Annex VI. The ships falling into a category from D to E are of high exposure of finance, charter and regulatory risks and will require a plan that outlines how the CII rating will be improved to a rating of C, or higher. All ships will be separated by CII ratings from A to E within boundaries that are declining annually in the coming years.
Carbon Intensity Indicator Dashboard
Marine Digital presents an innovative web dashboard indicating fleet CII, its historical dynamics and future forecast. Initial CII assessment is based on historical data and ships' digital twins. It's indicative on this level but populated across a fleet in a day and gives a transparent summary to assess performance, trends and see the gaps to prioritize.

Carbon Intensity Indicator Dashboard

Carbon Intensity Indicator trend Calculator
CII calculator and forecast tool allows to simulate end-of-the-year state of the vessel carbon intensity of the vessel and analyze the impact of the speed reduction. The tool is synchronized with sea trial data of the vessel and particulars, adjusted to the historical operational specifics for the last 6 months. Access our fleet today:

Advantage of our offering is also that CII assessment is synchronized with a SEEMP factor analysis, which clearly shows potential of the fleet operational improvement answering a question of how much extra could be gained without upgrading on-board equipment.

Higher tiers of our solution include on-board digital reporting system and non-invasive sensor data collecting, which provides exact CII calculation, real-time monitoring and reporting capability according to the regulatory requirements.

Аdvantage of Marine Digital FOS:

Marine Digital FOS can be integrated with other system and third-party's solutions through the API. To implement vessel performance monitoring for any vessel, we are using mathematical algorithms, machine learning and the same equipment as in FOS. The more data we collect from vessels, the more precise reports and recommendations our system will perform according to your individual requirements in fleet management.
